Site Updates – Hedgefield House Hotel & Shaadi Wedding Services

As the new year begins to bloom, so do the new site updates for 2015. Our first two launches of the year are breathing fresh life into the websites of long time clients at Hedgefield House Hotel, and Shaadi Wedding Services.

Hedgefield House

The previous site was beginning to show its age, with a mostly static construction which made updating a chore, and without a mobile version of the site it suffered in a mostly mobile-centric world. When originally launched it was even using a flash-based slideshow on the front page, since dropped in favour of a simpler javascript based slideshow.

Hedgefield House Hotel is based west of Newcastle with beautiful English gardens which we really wanted to show off in the new site. So many of the pages, and especially the homepage, have large full page spanning images of the grounds and interior of the bed & breakfast to show off Hedgefield Houses true potential. The new site is fully equipped for the modern web, with responsive web design allowing the site to scale to fit across a range of devices giving easier access to those viewing the site.

Another new addition to the site is the addition of a feed of Trip Advisor reviews, allowing the clients site to show off the positive reviews they’ve gained from previous guests. Features like these help really sell the accommodation to potential guests without needing to leave the site as the feature draws the reviews directly from the Hedgefield House Trip Advisor page.

Shaadi Wedding Services

Shaadi Wedding Services offer Indian style weddings throughout the north east and have been a client with Blue Shark Design for many years. Their initial site was suitable some years ago but with changing times comes changes for what the client wants from a website. The older site being built from static pages, similar to Hedgefield House, meant that it was difficult to update new images, and with this kind of services images are hugely important.

The new site means that the client can easily add in new images, as well as new pages advertising other services on offer, with ease due to the WordPress CMS used. The new site also uses WooCommerce to allow the client to sell products from the site, expanding not only the sites functionality but the business possibilities as well.
