How to Edit TikTok Videos

We all understand that TikTok has quickly become a household name, and will probably be around long into the future. To some company’s TikTok can be underutilised and potentially miss out on a wealth of customers – especially since it is one of the most downloaded apps on the App Store surpassing YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp.

With TikTok, you don’t need to be a professional to create great videos, or even already have a following. All you need is your phone, your personality and it will come naturally.

Thankfully, with TikTok’s in-app editing features they have made it super easy to get to grips with!

Create a Video

We’re sure this step was expected! But there are two ways you could record your video, you can do it in-app by selecting the length of video you want to create or simply upload the footage if you have recorded the footage already.

Adjust the length of your clips

If you tap ‘Adjust Clips’ you will be able to change the length of the video. All you need to do is move the lines on either side of the video to change to start and stop times. You can also rearrange or delete your clips at this stage as well.

Add filters

Filters are a great way to edit your video, simply click the ‘filters’ tab and you’ll get the choice of four categories: portrait, landscape, food and vibe.

Add Sound

This step is super important to any viral TikTok video, and they have made it easy to find the right sound for your video. Tap the ‘sounds’ section at the bottom to see all the music you can choose from. You can also browse through trending songs or search to find the right one. There is also the option to add your own sound, this can be great if you are talking in your video.

Add Effects

Effects can be a great way to make your video stand apart from others. Simply tap on the ‘effects’ tab to view a huge range of effects. You have the option to speed up your video, add filters, and create transitions.

Add Text & Stickers

Text and stickers can be a great option to add captions to your videos, and add polls, timestamps and emojis. With text, tap on the ‘text’ tab, type what you would like to appear, choose the font and colour, then simply choose where you want it to appear and for how long.
