Starting your own campaign can seem like a daunting process, however we have gotten together to give you our steps involved with building an effective brand awareness campaign.

  1. Understanding your Audience

Before you can start creating anything you need to know who it is that will be looking at your campaign. So first, look at who already buys your products or services, or even those who follow you on social media.

Then you can delve into some market research, as most of the time, your target audience also shops with your competitors – a great place to do some research.

After your research you can analyse you results and build a profile on your ideal customer.

  1. Choosing the Right Platform

Your brand awareness campaign isn’t all about who you target, it also is about where you target them. You want to make sure that you are reaching your target audience where they spend most of their time.

Look at choosing a couple of platforms and designing your campaign to suit those – whether that be adding hashtags or creating an advert that is more visually appealing.

  1. Setting Achievable Goals

Once you’ve finished your research, it’s time to choose some goals, these can be both short-term and long-term. Think about what you want to achieve, how this campaign fits into your long-term brand plans, which strategies you will use, and how are you going to track your progress.

  1. Make Sure you are Active and Engaging Online

With majority of your audience spending time online, consumer engagement is important. This can be something as simple as replying to tweets, answering messages, or just liking content that you have been tagged in.

But keep in mind that you are also trying to set the right impression to your potential target audience. Ideally you want to try and post once a day, however, we understand that not everyone has the time to do this. Therefore, try and post four or five times per week.

  1. Add your Personality

When you’re posting you want to highlight your company’s personality, this helps you stand out from all your other competitors. Just when you’re doing this keep it consistent so users will see you as a brand not as separate people posting on your account.

  1. Improve your Customer Experience

With their being so much competition online now, customer experience matters just as much as your products.

Your brand awareness campaign shouldn’t focus on bigging up your company, it should be about showing your customers why you matter to them.

Don’t worry if you aren’t sure how your user experience currently is, try and encourage your customers to leave reviews or send feedback to find out how you can improve.

  1. Track your Results

Before you can track your results, you need to set you some criteria for measuring your success. This will vary depending on what strategy you used. If you used Twitter, you could look at impressions, how many shared your tweet. Or if you ran a paid ad, you could look into Google Analytics to track how many clicks you received.
