Design Resources – Colours

July 5, 2012

Over the last few years, I have been exposed to some fantastic websites that will help when considering colour palettes within design. There are a few that we at blue-shark.co.uk would recommend you use as reference material for your designs.

1. ColourLovers – This fantastic resource is a site for creative inspiration, colours can make or break the design of a site in my opinion. What these guys do is present not only a huge amount of palettes and trends, but they even have an option to upload 1 particular colour then the site works it’s magic and finds colours that compliment your primary colour.

2. Adobe Kuler – Basically the same as colour lovers except it has a much larger library of palettes and doesn’t really touch on the ‘trends’ option.

3. ColorExplorer – This includes a few different color tools. With the color picker you can select a color and see different variations. You can also view color libraries and use the color matching tool to help create a palette.

These are just a few of the different colour choosing sites you can use to inspire a fantastically creative design. Check back next time when we bring you best free vector repositories!
